Workshop To Address Better Living for Older Adults
A workshop for older adults will feature information on senior exercise options and life enrichment from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 8 at Northland Neighborhoods, Inc., 3015 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City.
Speakers will include Sally King of Tri-County Mental Health Services and Paula Zigmond with Clay County Senior Services. Zigmond will detail local opportunities for older adult exercising and life enrichment activities, while King will talk on “Kindred Spirits – The Role of Intimate Relationships as We Age.”
“The latest research is saying that individuals with healthy social relationships have a 50 percent greater likelihood of survival compared to those with poor or insufficient social relationships,” King explained. “Who knew that your daily coffee with the guys at McDonalds, or your quilting circle actually made you live longer!”
