Northland Coalition Community Luncheon

The Northland Coalition will meet Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and present a film on resilience from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the second floor conference room of Tri-County Mental Health Services, 3100 NE 83rd Street, Kansas City North.

Volunteers of the Northland Coalition, who are dedicated to helping youth reach their full potential, invite community members to join them in planning programs and events to promote safe and healthy communities. In-service educational presentations are provided which offer valuable information and resources that address area issues. The luncheon meeting is complimentary, but reservations are requested.

The September meeting will feature the Lawson community coalition in a “sparkling moment “ presentation on their plans and prevention accomplishments.

Following the luncheon, a free showing of the documentary “Resilience, The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope” will be presented. Separate reservations are requested for the film.

With support from Tri-County, the nationally acclaimed coalition is composed of educators, representatives from social agencies, law enforcement and the legal field, as well as the community at large from Clay, Platte and Ray counties. Funding for their work comes from grants and community donations.
